Dimensions of NGO on Sustainable Development


 non- state actors (NGOs) role in developing the society are numerous as evident by their impact on the social, economic, and environmental dimensions, first they influence nation- state and multinational institutions through lobbying to achieve a particular sustainable development goals, (Pacheco-Vega, 2005). they further contribute to the drafting of specific, economic, social media, technological and political resolutions and negotiations


 (Wagner, 1999)., they provide the public with information to make wise economic choice in investment and in consumption, campaign against the dangers posed by human activities in the environment, for example The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is NGOs collaborating with business entities to ensure the save use of world’s forest, They are constituted to influence the dynamism of national and international politics, They have been a reliable instrument in changing political, social, and economic mindset and attitudes (Keck and Sikkink, 1998).

 They encourage cooperate observance of human rights and tremendously contribute to the enforcement of its violation. For instance, the recent world class suit against China by a non-profit organization “FREEDOM WATCH, INC. domiciled in Washington, D.C who demanded that the international organization commences an investigation to expose the role of China in the COVID 19 pandemic. To conclude with, NGOs are out to combat what (Foster,2001) referred to as an “environmental crises,” creating jobs that would enable the millions of youth without work to engage in meaningful livelihood, Rebuilding nations in every level,

 Empowering women to fulfill their potentials, Building strong and capable institution for Economic and social justice, making sure that disease does not erupt the activities of humankind, at the same time, ensuring that, national and international conflict and grievance capable of endangering the human race in part or in whole is amicably resolved , given well-meaning life to the displaced by providing an enabling environment necessary for them to achieve their human dignity, with the vulnerable and the aged interest considered with utmost zeal.
e reflects on that time in the history of man when couples and their children would be bonded by superior authorities, they would have to struggle towards the light to be noticed, all day, they dig the pits, plant sugar cane, fall the hardest trees without machines, haul the logs into the trucks, they were bonded laborers, bonded to serve their self-acclaimed masters for life and generations, masters whose mastery is justified only on the ground of cultural superimposition.

  INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY The term individual responsibility which is majorly used in the presidential system of government and is the direct opposite of collective responsibility means that a minister is individually   accountable for his or her personal actions and acts emanating from any part of the ministry and its public agencies. The minister therefore has both legal and political responsibility for the ministry he or she is heading.
